Ingredients

  • Flat Iron Steaks
  • Big Poppa’s Double Secret Seasoning

Directions

  1. Prepare the Steaks: Place the flat iron steaks on a clean surface.

  2. Let the Seasoning Set: Generously season both sides of the flat iron steaks with Big Poppa’s Double Secret Seasoning.

  3. Allow the seasoned flat iron steaks to rest for a few minutes, letting the seasoning sweat onto the meat and enhance the flavors.
  4. Preheat the Griddle: Heat up the griddle to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.

  5. Add a small amount of oil to the griddle to prevent sticking.
  6. Cooking the Steaks: Place the seasoned flat iron steaks on the preheated griddle.

  7. Cover the steaks to ensure even cooking.
  8. Flip and Monitor Temperature: Flip the flat iron steaks once the internal temperature reaches around 110 degrees Fahrenheit.

  9. Continue cooking until the internal temperature reaches 135-140 degrees Fahrenheit.
  10. Remove from Griddle: After reaching the desired internal temperature, remove the flat iron steaks from the griddle.

  11. Rest the Meat: Allow the cooked steaks to rest for about 5 minutes. This helps the juices redistribute, resulting in a more flavorful and tender steak.

  12. Slice and Plate: Slice the flat iron steaks against the grain to maximize tenderness.

  13. Plate the sliced steak with your favorite sides.
