These Big Poppa's Apple Turnovers are a sweet and smoky dessert you can whip up in no time. Made with biscuit dough and canned apple filling, this simple treat gets an irresistible upgrade when baked in a smoker or oven and topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel drizzle.
Ingredients
1 tube of biscuit dough (8-count)
All-purpose flour (for dusting)
1 egg white (beaten)
1 can of apple pie filling
Cinnamon (for sprinkling)
Sugar (for sprinkling)
Vanilla ice cream (optional)
Caramel sauce (optional)
Directions
Lightly flour your work surface. Roll out each biscuit into a flat circle using a rolling pin or your hands.
Add a spoonful of apple filling into the center of each dough circle.
Brush the edges of the dough with beaten egg white.
Fold the dough over to form a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal tightly.
