Harsh weather and your MAK Grill:

You may be wondering, "How does the MAK Grill handle rain, snow, and wind?"

The best place for your MAK grill is under cover and out of extreme weather, but if you absolutely have to grill, there’s no worries because the MAK pellet grill was built to handle any weather condition. Check out these pro MAK tips below for cooking in harsh weather:  

1. The thickness of the steel used in the MAK grill bodies (16 gauge) helps the grill cook at consistent temperatures - no matter what the weather is like.

2. Use Oak, Hickory, or Mesquite pellets in cold weather. They burn hotter!

3. Always be plugged into a GROUNDED 110 outlet with a GFCI plug.

4. If it's windy - keep your casters locked on your MAK grill to keep it in place.

5. Keep your MAK grill & smoker out of puddles or standing water.

6. Keep your wood pellets dry! Soggy/wet pellets will ruin your MAK.

I purchased a MAK 1 Star last year and I am still in love with it. It is very easy to use (since I don't have any smoking experience). The clean up is fast! I can Smoke, Grill and even bake on it. I smoke turkey burgers, ribs, steaks. Turning it on and adjusting the temp is very easy. The Pellets la... read full review

    After years of battling propane grills and never feeling like I got it right, this thing is a beast that makes grilling competition quality bbq a cinch. I have done everything from pork shoulders to brownies in it and whether it's a quick burger or a 14 hour pulled pork fest, the 1 star delivers. The only complaint I have is that the paint will scratch off of the surface the grill grates sit on, but as I understand it, the underlying metal is aluminized steel which should not rust.     I purchased a MAK 1 Star last year and I am still in love with it. It is very easy to use (since I don't have any smoking experience). The clean up is fast! I can Smoke, Grill and even bake on it. I smoke turkey burgers, ribs, steaks. Turning it on and adjusting the temp is very easy. The Pellets last me a couple of cooks. I smoke with hickory pellets (BBQ Delight). I usually smoke on my upper rack (gives me extra space. Perfect for gatherings). I also bought an extra Probe, the MAK has 3 outlets for probes. I recommend people to buy this and add a cover and upper rack. I can always buy more accessories as I am getting better at smoking. Thank you MAK! (Posted on 7/3/2015)
