Jack Daniels & Coke Braised Chuck Roast Sandwich (Smoked BBQ Beef)

Alright kids… this one’s not fancy—but it hits like a freight train. We’re taking a humble chuck roast, smoking it low and slow, then braising it in Jack Daniels and Coke until it’s fall-apart tender and begging to be piled onto a sandwich.

Seasoned with Cash Cow and Sweet Money, this beef gets smoky, juicy, and packed with flavor before we shred it, rehydrate it, and build one of the best BBQ sandwiches you’ve ever had.

Sweet. Savory. Smoky. A little nutty from the whiskey. Yeah… this isn’t your average pot roast sandwich.

Why This Recipe Rocks

Chuck roast is one of the most underrated BBQ cuts out there. When you smoke it and braise it right, it turns into shredded beef gold—perfect for sandwiches, loaded fries, tacos, or just eating straight out of the pan when nobody’s looking.

How to Make Chuck Roast Sandwiches

1. Season the Chuck Roast

Start with a light base of Cash Cow Seasoning, then layer on Sweet Money Seasoning. Let it sit for about 30 minutes until the surface “sweats.”

2. Smoke Low & Slow

Set your smoker or drum to 250°F. Cook for 3–4 hours, rotating occasionally for even heat and moisture.

3. Build the Braise

Place smoked chuck roast in a pan with sliced onions. Pour in Jack Daniels and Coke until partially submerged.

4. Cover & Cook

Cover tightly with foil and return to the smoker at 250°F. Cook until internal temp reaches 206°F and the meat is tender enough to shred.

5. Rest & Shred

Remove from heat and rest briefly. Strain the braising liquid, separating fat from the flavorful juice.

6. Rehydrate & Season

Shred the beef and mix with a little of the strained juice. Add a sprinkle of Competition Stash for an extra flavor kick.

7. Build the Sandwich

Spread mayonnaise on your bun, add shredded beef, top with cheese, and let the heat melt it slightly. Finish with pickled onions for balance.

Serving Ideas

  • Serve on toasted sandwich rolls or brioche buns
  • Pair with fries, chips, or coleslaw
  • Use leftovers for tacos, nachos, or loaded baked potatoes
