Easy Jalapeño Scalloped Potatoes (Creamy, Cheesy & Loaded with Big Poppa Flavor)

Alright kids… this one’s dangerous. Big Poppa’s Jalapeño Scalloped Potatoes are creamy, cheesy, and just spicy enough to keep things interesting. We’re stacking up layers of sliced potatoes, sautéed peppers, and a rich cream sauce that comes together like a backyard comfort food masterpiece.

This isn’t some fancy, fussy side dish. This is real-deal comfort food with a little rebel attitude—jalapeños, sweet onions, red bell peppers, and a heavy dose of melty cheese. It’s the kind of dish that shows up next to brisket or ribs and quietly steals the whole show.

Yeah, it’s rich. Yeah, it’s indulgent. But sometimes you don’t play it safe—you go full flavor. And this right here? Worth every bite.

 Why This Recipe Rocks

You get everything you want in one pan—tender potatoes, creamy sauce, bold seasoning, and that golden, bubbly cheese top. Big Poppa’s Jallelujah Jalapeño Seasoning brings the heat and citrus pop, while Little Louie’s Seasoned Salt balances it all out.

It’s simple, it’s layered, and it hits like a champ.

How to Make Jalapeño Scalloped Potatoes

1. Build Your Flavor Base

Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion, jalapeño, and red bell pepper. Cook until soft and translucent.

2. Season It Right

Add Hallelujah Jalapeño Seasoning. Adjust salt with Little Louie’s if needed.

3. Make the Cream Sauce

Pour in heavy cream and milk. Simmer until slightly thickened—just enough to coat the back of a spoon.

4. Layer It Up

In a greased baking dish, spread a base layer of sauce. Add sliced potatoes, cheese, and more sauce. Repeat layers.

5. Finish Strong

Top with a generous layer of cheese (quesadilla cheese works great for browning).

6. Bake Covered

Bake at 400°F for 45 minutes.

7. Bake Uncovered

Remove cover and bake another 25 minutes until golden and bubbling.

8. Rest & Serve

Let it rest 10–15 minutes before serving so it sets up perfectly.

Serving Ideas
